Hygiene Team

Meagan, Dental Hygienist

My name is Meagan and I have been working in the dental field since 2001 starting as a Sterilization Technician and Dental Assistant. I then became a Certified Dental Assistant with Radiology Certification. I worked for general dentists and a Periodontist who inspired me to go into Dental Hygiene. I have been a Hygienist since 2006 after graduating from Tunxis Community College and UCONN (clinical) where I was the recipient of the Proctor and Gamble Outstanding Student Clinician in Public Health award. I have been with South Windsor Smiles since 2020 and truly love working as a Dental Hygienist. I enjoy meeting and educating the patients in the practice and helping them achieve their best health and smile!

Courtney, Dental Hygienist

My name is Courtney and I graduated from Tunxis Community College and did my clinical at UConn health center for dental hygiene.  I have been a hygienist for more than 10 years. I enjoy working as a hygienist especially when I’m able to help people back to good Health. As for my work philosophy I believe the hygienist is part of a team that works in conjunction with the dentist and the patient in order to help develop healthy habits… I always tell my patients “the more work you do at home the less work you will need to get done at the dental office.. Family is the most important thing to me. When I’m not at work I enjoy playing with my kids. My family my favorite sports team is Manchester City. (Soccer Team ) and the New England Patriots. My favorite quote: It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice

Jewels,Dental Hygienist

I’m Jewels, one of the hygienists here.   I started in dentistry in 1985 as an assistant and did that until I graduated from Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene in 1992.  Along the way I also received certifications for nutrition, gerontology, dental anesthesia and most recently became an EMT in 2018.  I spend a lot of my free time doing volunteer work as an EMT, with CTMOM and my local library.    I also enjoy “glamping” (camping but with an RV) and I have two rescue dogs that come with my husband and I on our travels.

Yeniely, Scheduling Coordinator

Hi, my name is Yeniely but everyone calls me Nelly.  I was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico; a small town next to San Juan. I have been in Connecticut now for 16 years and out of those years I’ve been in the dental field for 4 years as a scheduling coordinator. I appreciate the opportunity it gives me to meet and communicate with a variety of wonderful people everyday. There is always a joy to see them satisfied after their visit to the office. Outside of work, I enjoy taking some time for myself to paint. I would describe myself as a homebody, but am lucky to share that lifestyle with my loving partner and both our dogs.
